Since the beginning of my astrological magic journey, I recognized my innate fixation towards certain elections that I would choose in advance for planetary talismans. Marked by some personal gnosis in the dark hours of night during the Moon hours, I thought to myself, this is it. I need to create a body of work to share with those who also want to be touched by the Moon. To understand the Moon is to understand the language of cycles, care, and intuition. She is the archetype of nourishment—not only through food or rest, but through the kind of attention that sees what is needed before it is even asked for. The Moon reminds us that life is not linear, but rhythmic and a cyclical dance of waxing and waning, fullness and retreat, giving and receiving. In this blog write-up I want to explore the Moon and share my personal thoughts, experiences, and outcomes of her power. I hope you enjoy. 🤍🦪✨🫂

What is the Moon?
The moon represents that which is beautiful, pleasant, elegant (especially in speech), calmness, fast motion, the love to delight in things that are joyful and playful, purity, nurturance, clear intentions, good memory, night vision, finding out hidden secrets/wealth, and attracting ways of security with-in the material realm. 🌙 She is one of the two luminaries in astrology and is the light of the night which is intimate and shows what is still moves that we might not realize during the day. The Moon rules over marriage, the physical body, the city, possessions, expenses, and mother. In neolithic times the moon signified midwifery, hypnotism, herbs, dreams, and fertility. Still, today in this capitalistic world where we work all day and then go home, we might forget, worse not recognize. Creation made during the day differs from creation made by during the night. It is here that we get the sense that there is something natural occurring that distinguishes itself. It’s rhythmic and generative. It's "nature's medicine". It's creation and death. Beginnings and endings. Planting and harvesting. It's recognizing that what has lived and died goes back into the soil and life continues on.
The Moon governs time through its phases, waxing, full, waning, new, which has long been used to track menstrual cycles, agricultural patterns, birth, and even the tides itself. In The Great Cosmic Mother, Monica Sjöö & Barabara Mor say:
"...women---being the farmers, gardeners, and keepers of the grain---buried their dead in great egg-shaped pithoi or clay storage urns under the ground. Always a connection was made between the miraculous growth of the plant from a seed buried in the earth, and the dead body, planted also in the earth, with the hope of regeneration through her womb-powers. The women drew on their daily practical experiences as agriculturists to create elaborate new myths of cyclical birth, death, and resurrection."

Seeds. Germination. Seedlings. Growth. Flowering. Maturity and death. The lunar experience is about the fluctuations and permutations of life itself and it is a continuous process that keeps giving even when the "plant" dies and reaches the end---we still get seeds and the process starts over again. 🤍
The nature of the Moon is to nourish. Not just in the literal sense of feeding, but in the deeper sense of sustaining life—moment by moment—with attentiveness, care, and foresight. To nourish is to "provide what is necessary for growth, health, and good condition." It is a quiet, constant devotion to life’s continuity, much like a marriage which requires commitment to see till the end. "Till death do us part." Below is a clip of a video that is very fitting. As a twilight nerd, I must encourage you who are not to entertain this reflection on what it is to be human. To taste food, experience the pleasures of life in a very natural way. Here, Bella and Edward are on an island for their honeymoon. Bella contemplates giving up being human as she realizing how wonderful it truly is to live.
Second century astrologer Vettius Valens wrote that the Moon rules the left eye, stomach, breasts, breath, spleen, marrow, and dura mater. At first glance, these may seem like unrelated parts. But look closer, and a theme emerges:
We are not just here in the material plane indebted to work our whole lives, rather we by right have come here to enjoy and act on simple biological pleasures that exist daily. Relaxation. Food. Sleep. Youthful curiosity to explore our surroundings, hygiene, and well… procreation. Procreation ensured that power and wealth were passed down through generations, maintaining the dominance of the royal family. This is something to think about. While you might not want a child, symbolically speaking, the seeds you do plant can be associated to any form of art, movements, or new beginnings that require tending to and would like to be passed down. What is it that you are birthing into the world?
Taurus Decan II 🌱
With the Moon exalted in Taurus, we enter a sacred terrain, what some may recognize as “Linga-Yoni.” While the Moon’s exaltation degree falls in the first decan, it is the second decan where we experience the Moon co-ruling with Mercury. Both are messengers. However with the Moon we see associations with "the people" and the act of giving or receiving news. The Moon adds and subtracts insights that point us to what needs nurturing, healing, or expressing.
In this second decan, creation itself is symbolized, as astrologer Austin Coppock depicts it through the conjoined image of phallus and womb, an emblem of union, fertility, and genesis. This decan teaches the rhythm of alternation: work and play, labor and pleasure, sowing and reaping.
Here are several sources on this specific decan:
Yavanajataka of Sphujidhvaja: The second Decan in Taurus is a red-faced woman whose arms and lower lip are also red. She is pre-eminent as she stands on one foot holding a jar. She is always intent on eating and drinking, and delights in gardens and woods. (
Johannes Angelus: The second is of the Moon. It is the face of power, nobility, dignity, and necessity as concerns the people.
Picatrix, Bk II, ch. 11: A man like the figure of a camel and having on his fingers are hooves like those of cows, and he is covered completely with a torn linen sheet. He desires to work the land, to sow, and to make things. And this is a face of nobility, power, and of rewarding the people.
It is here where we experience the Moon as the caregiver archetype that is hard-working, persevering, pleasure-loving, and interested in agriculture. Agriculture is the science of growing crops. This is the sacred worker and the earth magician. In essence, by understanding what it is we want to grow to stabilize equilibrium we recognize when it is time to work and when it is time to play, but also when it is time to share and give as this decan is associated with the "Lord of Success" which is the 6 of pentacles in the Rider Waite tarot. This is where we allow ourselves to generate material wealth and determine it's sole purpose. It's a terrain where we experience a sense of ease and abundance.
Just FYI, Since wearing my Moon in Taurus talisman, this idea of "work first, play later" resonates so much. I find myself tending to what will make me more comfortable. Leaving work for day time hours (earlier in the day) and play for night-time (whenever I get done with said work).
Biological Pleasure | I See Frogs
I have spent a lot of time with the Moon during her days and hours. Hours of time turned into this production of intricate automatic writing sessions that led me to fixate on frogs. In Book one, Chapter XXIV, Agrippa states,
“Amongst fish, these are Lunary, Aelurus, whose eyes are changed according to the course of the Moon, and whatsoever observes the motion of the Moon, as the Tortoise, the Echeneis, Crabs, Oisters, Cockles, and Frogs.”

This experience of seeing this specific correspondence to the Moon was so intense for me. I started to see frogs/toads everywhere! Around my house, driving down a road during the day (very odd), at the doctor’s office, and it began to even reverberate into my daily conversations. For nearly a month this was happening and I enjoyed it. It was as if the cosmos were speaking to me, nudging me to sit and contemplate the signs and omens coming to me on the daily. This also felt like something I absolutely needed to share. It made me feel calm to hear these amphibians just croak in the night. Memories of me on my uncles farm came flooding in. Nights were spent in the dark laying out under the stars and falling into a hypnotic state of focusing in on my surroundings. I recognized that the animals, specifically cats and frogs were still rustling in the shadows despite everyone else sleeping. I lied there and the barn cats came up to me and jumped on to my blanket. I don't know what prompted that, but it felt magical and made me realize the world doesn't stop and it's the gift that keeps giving even if we think ours own internal world is burning down. This memory illuminated and triggered something for me and I recognized something I hadn’t much thought about before while the frogs showed up. That besides frogs and toads wide range of vocalizations, we enter the world of a species that can indicate it's own environmental health. Beyond jumping, their skin makes them more sensitive to changes within their environment. They also kill large quantities of insects that carry diseases, and have certain behaviors to attract mates for procreation. Hunt prey, eat, mate, repeat. I am not asking you to have sex per se (hehe), but there is certainly an aspect where our behaviors and characteristics can attract certain people to us that is beneficial for sole creation. This involves how we look (hygiene), how we act, social skills, our resources, and even pheromones. A very lunar-venusian signature within this election if I do say so myself.
Personal Gnosis Notes On The Moon 🌙📝
These are just some notes I wrote down during the Moons hours that I wanted to relay. It's more than just petitioning for me, it is the desire to understand and reveal hidden meanings that tend to get looked over. It encapsulates an idea of what can we can create or expect out of a New Moon in Taurus talisman.

Generation- A single stage in the development of a type of product. Procreation.
Product- A thing or person that is the result of an action or process.
New- creating something not existing before-- something consistent, stable, and long-lasting.
Frogs- indicators of environmental health, with their presence or absence. Signaling the overall well-being of an ecosystem.
Ecosystem- community of living organisms, interacting with their physical environment. Inviting what creates a long-lasting stable environment.
Recognizes disturbances & stressors
Eucalyptus- clearer breathing.(This is interesting as when it comes to Taurus, the illnesses associated with it is suffocation, nostrils, and swelling glands of the neck)
Purity- clean
Expulsion/Expelling insects- mosquitoes, flies, gnats, repels diseases/nuisances in life
Recognizing when something is out of place.
Increase of wealth/ financial freedom/ independence.
Sustaining life- maintain or support--friendships & committed relationships.
"What can we create that is worth living?"
Taking an image and recording it for memory. Portraitists.
Beauty
Contemplation of the material world.
Recognizing cyclical patterns.
Finding hidden wealth & secrets.
Perception- to compare what is similar but still different
Knowing the people.
Planetary Election For Talismans
For the purpose of this election, I wanted the Moon to be in the best possible condition, free from harsh aspects of the malefics, this chart shows a New Moon in Taurus. Perfect as when the moon is waxing, we experience increase of what we petition for.
"And if you find the Moon increasing in light then her strength and power is good and useful in all works to bring about increase and if you find the light [of the Moon] diminishing it is suitable and harmonious for all works in which you wish diminution.”
Picatrix BII, Chapter III.
The Moon is rising in her sign of exaltation and face. Exalted planets are a little bit more enjoyable depending on the host which is also exalted. In this election you find the Moon making a wide sextile to Venus and Saturn in Pisces. Jupiter guarding their home from the temple of Gemini by sign-based aspect. Exaltations are a little more fun, as you may not be solely responsible, but you do still benefit. Much like staying at a nice hotel. You don’t own the establishment, but you do have access to all the amenities. With the Moon angular and rising, this is the opportunity for the Moon to be brought into prominence and be supported. This planetary talisman election occurred during Moon day and Moon hour. I did also want to mention that even though the Moon is applying widely to a sextile with Venus and Saturn, this is a day chart. Venus-Saturn can often times feel as if we are committed to that which is productive of Venusian type things. Sextiles are harmonious aspects and Venus is able to guard her temple with the Moon present in Taurus. All this being said, this election seems fitting and safe for a Moon in Taurus Talisman.
The Moon is dignified by exaltation and face
The Moon is rising
It is Moon day and Moon hour
Moon is not combust
Not making an applying square to either malefics
Not making an applying conjunction to either malefics
Not conjunct the Nodes

Herbs & Oils
The lunar herbs I used for my talismanic oil were purspane, clove, eucalyptus, mugwort, aloe, peppermint, lemon balm, white willow bark, jasmine flowers, cinnamon, star anise, rosemary, and blue/white lotus flowers. The lunar oils I used were eucalyptus and jasmine oil. Each bottle will have 1 genuine white freshwater pearl.
Altar Explanation & Creation
Altars are like looking at a storyboard. A storyboard is a visual representation of a story or narration. You look at it and it’s a visual representation of what you envision. It’s also a communication tool. You can use your own altar as a place to define goals, develop plans, meditate, and then review and revise outcomes to create a stronger relationship to these entities/spirits.
That being said, I have to be able to recognize the planetary spirit I am honoring/attracting. It’s more than just a picture or the number of candles that I would need. For magic to truly be present, I believe I have to have things that explain my relationship and reverie that I've created up to the planetary talisman election as a magician. That means going out in nature, exploring, foraging, and reflecting internally on how those correspondences link to that specific planet. It’s time-consuming, but it is also memory/sensory building. Therefore, I participate in creating these lunar material experiences that link me every time I sit at my altar during Moon hours and days.
For the Moon, I chose a couple of things that I foraged myself. Tiny crabs and shiny white rocks from the beach. Some of them looked like there were silver flecks inside them. What I found interesting in my own personal gnosis is that this reminded me about Valens statement on Moon which is the Moon is “lit by the reflection of the sun’s light and possessing a borrowed light”. This is a direct correlation of that special quality of the Moon I observed on the beach. The Sun’s light is essentially borrowed so that we can see objects that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to see or notice or perceive that would be hidden or obscure. Uncovering something you knew was there intuitively. It also creates positive connotations of the Moon to know that these crabs and rocks came from a place where I was calm, able to relax and because of that I can recall these emotions and associate it with the vessels I obtained for the planetary spirit of the Moon. Much like Monica Sjoo & Barabara Mor say, this is the metaphorical egg-shaped pithoi I used to host the planetary spirit of the Moon. A symbolic message of rebirth, growth, and periodic death.
Within our storyboard’s, we have activity tabs, our results, a narration of occurrences and interactions, as well as "orders" for things we are asking to obtain within the material realm for optimal support. I asked for these specific things as I consecrated, suffumigated, and ensouled each pendant with the spirit of the Moon:

Nourishment
Protection
Fertility
Growth
Biological Pleasures
Health
Foresight
Reduction in stress
Wealth
Stability
Security
Safe travels
The harmonious aspect between the Moon and Venus in this election I chose speaks to the intimate connection between the body and "care", reminding us that love & passion sustains our bodily existence too, not just food or sunlight. From creations that emerge from within us to the essential practice of acknowledging our emotions in relationships, this combination of planets teaches us the value of appreciating the beauty in the mundane, the fleeting moments, the low and high tide, and inconstancy's within life. It encourages us to prioritize sensory pleasures and embrace the fluctuations in what we find joyful, recognizing that comfort itself can be a profound form of care if we plant our seeds carefully and tenderly. The effort and work we put into creation itself determines how much recreational fun we take part in.
With Saturn present in Pisces and Venus separating from Saturn while the Moon applies to both planets, we meet our restrictions/fears first and then figure out our desires. It begs the question. "What do I desire? What am I losing that I need and can't live without? What "dream" is intangible and how can I create that in my material reality?" With the Sun in the 1st decan of Taurus, perhaps we know exactly which seeds to plant in order to receive abundance and "crops" that keep giving.
By planting the seeds salvaged from dying crops, we cultivate new growth both metaphorically & physically. Earned through hard work, we end up being guided like a compass-- through a life that is worth living, pleasurable, and abundant.
Effects
I wanted to share my honest experience with the talismans I’ve created. After consecrating, suffumigating, and ensouling these talismans with the spirit of the Moon, I dedicated myself to further bonding with her during Moon hours after the 28th of April by continuing this ritual nine times. I wore my frog-shaped moonstone talisman throughout this process, and the most noticeable effect has been an overwhelming sense of calm. A couple of surprising events followed, and I'll do my best to explain them. Fair warning: if you find bodily functions uncomfortable, you might want to stop reading here.

I’ve always had difficulty with digestion, but on this particular day, I found myself rushing to the bathroom repeatedly, which was completely abnormal for me. Given that the Moon is associated with stomach/digestion and I had specifically petitioned for health, I couldn't help but wonder if this anomaly was a sign that the talisman was working. The digestive system’s job is to break down food so the body can absorb nutrients for energy, growth, and repair, and when it functions well, it allows for proper elimination of waste. In contrast, when I wear my Saturn talisman, I often feel emotionally and physically constipated, and as William Lilly suggests, Saturn can cause a “too much flux of the hemorrhoids”—straining becomes harder. However, with my Moon talisman, it wasn’t like that at all. Instead, my stomach hurt from something I had eaten, and I found myself craving whole foods, a clear sign to take better care of myself and avoid processed foods altogether.
Later that day, on my way to the store, I found myself suddenly preoccupied with a financial matter that I hadn’t expected any updates on. For some reason, I instinctively held my Moon talisman while scrolling through my email, muttering to myself, “I wish I had some news about this.” As soon as I refreshed the page, I received the exact update I needed—relieving news that I would be receiving what I had been waiting for. This moment felt like a gentle, lunar, motherly tap on the shoulder, leaving me with a deep sense of security. I felt supported in the moment.

These experiences are a perfect reflection of the Moon-Venus relationship I described earlier. The Moon is nurturing, comfort, and care and her influence is subtle yet powerful, often manifesting in ways that reassure us when we need it most. Just as the Moon governs digestion and the natural rhythms of the body, it also brings comfort in times of uncertainty, guiding us to care for not only ourselves when we need it, but for others too when we can. The garden that produces will feed many when tended to regularly. The calm and relief I felt from my talisman mirrored the nurturing, secure energy that the Moon embodies—reminding me to nourish not only my body but also my emotional well-being consistently in pleasurable ways. So what does this look like?
Creating daily rituals that requires consistency
Scheduling "play time"
Honoring your body
Engaging with senses
Redefining what productivity means to you.
Balancing our emotions
Identifying what it is you need to plant in order to help you relax This experience truly captured the essence of lunar care, balancing the physical and the emotional in a gentle, supportive way.
As you continue to use these talismans, I urge you to pray to the Moon during her hours and days for 9 times. I don't personally feel like you have to dedicate a certain amount of days. We are all busy. Just 9 times. I promise you it will change your life. May you feel the love I did from Goddess herself. 🤍 The list I provided of my own personal gnosis and things I asked for I think will help you along your way to reflect on. Magically & warmly, I wish you the best. May these talismans provide you motherly love.
