The Lot of Eros deals with more than just your relationships. This lot can give you details about what you are magnetized to, your desires, eroticism, what you yearn, crave and even your creative strengths. This is about your relationship to what you love. 💗 I don't know why, but I felt called and inspired to showcase how one would delineate a lot. I don't see many people doing it so openly so why not show it, especially for the astrologers out there who are maybe new to lots. The purpose of this blog isn't to flood you with the history, you can purchase lectures from other people about that or go on to The Astrology Podcast YouTube channel. Please do. My main focus today is going to show you how to delineate a lot. This actually may require you to write something down, but it's okay I promise you don't have to do it fast or feel pressured to come up with the most detailed thing. 🫂
As you know, I will be delineating Picasso's Lot of Eros and then looking at the conditions to see if this lot is "good" or "bad" or possibly a mixture of both. For calculation purposes I will be using ASC + Venus - Lot of Spirit. Reverse for night. (Paulus Alexandrinus). If this is not the formula you use, I just want you to know it's the one I am using today. 😁
For a little background, Pablo Picasso was the pioneering Spanish artist of the 20th century who revolutionized the art world with his unparalleled creativity and boundless innovation. He was born in1881 and his artistic journey spanned numerous phases, each imprinting distinct styles such as cubism, surrealism, and classicism. With such a profound sense of creativity, I thought that it would be a good idea to take a look at his Lot of Eros to determine what his creative power, relationships (love, family, friendships) looks like and how one wishes for it to show up as. For reasons unknown, I just felt called to do this and so I hope someone gains from this. So here we go. 💗

The Delineation Breakdown

I like drawing dispositor trees. You don't have to, but it is helpful for me personally to look at to gain a perspective that doesn't quite rely on aspects and then write out key words that describes the planet's job. So to delineate lots, I personally like to list all the conditions that stand out to me, sources, and thoughts. So to start, I will be speaking astrological Jargon and going down the list of what I see. His Lot of Eros is in the 2nd face of Cancer and conjunct Mars his of sect malefic. It is fallen, cadent, overcome by a superior sign-based sextile by Jupiter Rx, Saturn Rx, and Neptune Rx in the 10th. Mars is also out of bounds. The ruler of his lot is the Moon. The Moon is in the 5th house in Sagittarius and separating from Venus his benefic of sect to conjoin the North Node. You want to break this down so that you can understand what the hell you are talking about and not just saying, "yeah, I think this means love will have to deal with your Lot of Eros." You want to get as detailed as possible because we each have an individual experience unique to our natal chart. So what is different about this Lot from other's who are in the same sign?
Here's the details. Try not to overthink. Most of the time you will encounter people who will hear one thing and then in branches off into a whole conversation. We want to keep it detailed, but condensed.
Lot in 2nd face of cancer= What he is magnetized to is where he feels safe and protected. He needs his relationships to mirror the caretaker archetype, that provides a nurturing environment and emotional attachment.
Lot of Eros conjunct Mars in the 12th, his of sect malefic which is fallen, cadent, and overcome by superior sextile of Saturn rx, Jupiter rx, and Neptune Rx in the 10th = He sees his desires as a challenge, something to be fought for. His artistic pursuits could be depressing, sorrowful, and showcase pain. His actions when it comes to relationships and love can be influenced by melancholy, dreams, drugs, delusions, escapism, spirituality, elders, authority, governmental systems, wise sages, noblemen, etc. There is something peculiar, out of the box, and above the bell curve that relates to his creative power and how it wants to to essentially take what it desires. I would assume that anger, competition, and the chase play a part when it comes to love and relationships with themes of unconscious patterns and actions that go may against our best interests.
The ruler of this lot is the Moon. The Moon is in the 5th house of Sagittarius and is being overcome by a superior sextile by a domiciled Venus in the 3rd house and separating in aspect. = The Moon is how we nourish ourselves. It is about our emotions and how one takes care of self. Emotions play a part in the way he experiences recreational activities, romance, sex. The Moon is also in Sagittarius Face II. Planets in this face signify boldness, malice, freedom and war. We are met with sudden realizations as to what our path is and being able to initiate change within the environment. The Moon which is all about intuition must have a clear agenda which needs to be able to explore and expand mental horizons. Meaning that emotions, what we are attached to, instincts, and memories will play a part in how one experiences love, partnerships, creative processes and things that grabs one's attention. I think this says something about his communication style, early experiences, past relationships with women. This could definitely play a very important role in how he exerts his creative power.
Finally, the dispositor of the Moon in the 5th house is Jupiter in Taurus Rx in the 10th which is disposited to domicile Venus in Libra in the 3rd which is being overcome by Mars in the 12th. The urge to find meaning and broadening our horizons is dependent on how we demonstrate our determination. There is a feeling where we tend to guard ourselves from misfortune, hoping that whatever work we put into something will be alright. This is where we have difficulties recognizing one's limits in the world and where we can resort to prayers when we are confronted with something we can't control like judgement, the truth, and ethical values when it comes to our intimate partners, what we find pleasurable, and creative arts. I think this has to say something about creative power, relationships being able to influence public recognition, reputation, and pinnacle of one's glory. There might be a sense of repetition, needing to rest & recharge batteries, revising, readjusting, re-exploring, recreational romantic endeavors and then dealing with judgement, fantasy or restrictions to public image. Early belief systems and upbringing from familial roots could have influenced how one pursues action towards art, women, desires, love, mother, music, friendships, and companionship.
The Conditions To Look At
All in all, I didn't mean for this to be a big formal blog, but one where I show my own thought process at the current moment when I start my own interpretations. When I talk to people 1:1 about this lot in a consultation setting, it is important for me for there to be dialogue because there are so many possibilities and I'm so curious about what people would have to say about it. The feedback to me is important. So below is some other factors that extends an exhaustive list of how to check if your lot is in "good" condition or "bad". I will highlight what applies to Picasso. You can take these and apply it to your own Lot of Eros or any lot for that matter.
Good Conditions:
Lot is in a good house
Beneifcs copresent with the lot
Benefics configured to the lot
Malefics being in aversion to the sign of the lot
The lord of the lot being a benefic
The lord being dignified by sign
The lord in a good house
The lord aspecting the lot
The lord being configured to benefics, especially by superior trine or square, or conjunction.
The lord being in aversion to malefics.
The lord being visible, more than 15 degrees from the Sun.
Bad Conditions:
Lot in a bad house
Malefics copresent with the lot
Malefics configured to the lot
Benefics being in aversion to the sign of the lot.
The lord of the lot being a malefic.
The lord debilitated by sign
The lord in a bad house
The not aspecting the lot
The lord being configured to malefics, especially by superior square, opposition or conjunction.
The lord being in aversion to benefics.
The lord being under the beams, within 15 degrees of the Sun.
In conclusion, there seems to be a mixture of both good and bad, but as you can tell Picasso's Lot of Eros seems to lean more towards being what I can conceptualize at this point as being more challenging. Anyways, let me know your thoughts. 💗 Sometimes delineation itself can be quite exhausting when taking in a bunch of factors, but I think if we keep on working on it we will get better. I personally have been working on delineation and what you can do with this. Delineating Lots should be one of the the first things you do and then with Zodiacal Releasing we can ultimately look at the quality of each epoch in which it relates to the Lot. That's the fun part, being able to listen to the story's and possibly being affirmed by what the Lot initally promises.
Below I have a video where I kind of look at Picasso's love life. ⬇️
